Get Free Inflight WiFi or Hotspot Access with a Credit Card
Gogo provides WiFi services on many airplanes, including most flights on Delta and Alaska, and some flights on American and United. Gogo website.
A few credit cards give you free Gogo inflight WiFi passes every year.
Your passes are added to a Gogo account. Since you can't activate more than one pass from the same account on the same flight, setting up different accounts for different cards allows family members or other travelling companions to be able to access your passes.
For many of these cards, your Gogo passes won't expire until one year after you add them to your account. You can extend their expiration by waiting to register until shortly before you need to use them or until just before the end of the year.

The U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve Card comes with 12 Gogo passes, along with great reward rates on digital wallet purchases and a number of other benefits. It has a $400 annual fee, but an automatic $325 travel credit brings the effective annual fee to $75. | |

The UBS Infinite Card includes 12 passes. Unfortunately, its $495 annual fee is offset by a hard to use airline incidental credit, and your credit card account generally can't be managed online. |
Alongside the cards that offer Gogo passes, the Aviator Red Card gives you a $25 annual statement credit towards purchases of inflight WiFi on American Airlines, and the Discover it Miles Card gives you a $30 credit towards any inflight WiFi purchase. Both credits are applied automatically when you use the card to pay for access.
The Southwest Performance Business Card gives you 365!! WiFi credits per year on Southwest's WiFi service. Each is good for $8, but that's all it costs to enable WiFi for the day on Southwest. Even though 365 happens to correspond to the number of days in the year, you can use more than one pass per day, if you need to activate multiple devices.
All members of the hotel's loyalty program usually get free WiFi during their stays. But, with the automatic elite status that you can get with some hotel credit cards, you can get free access to a higher-speed WiFi option, when you stay at that hotel.
