  Credit Card List

  • U.S. Bank operates its own reward program called FlexPerks, which earns points that can be redeemed for travel. For the time being, the Altitude Reserve (their premium credit card), earns "Altitude Points". Altitude points can be converted 1:1 into FlexPerks, and the programs may merge in the future.
  • Points are worth 1.5 cents and can be redeemed through U.S. Bank's Travel Portal. For the non-Amex cards, you can also activate a feature that allows you to redeem your points as credits against travel purchases made elsewhere.

  • There are no limits to earning signup bonuses multiple times. If you get approved, you'll earn the signup bonus.
  • It can be difficult to get approved for cards. They are sensitive to the number of recent inquiries. Odds are better if you are one of their banking customers.
  • U.S. Bank typically offers referral bonuses. There is no single place to check, try to doing a websearch with the name of the card, and the word "referral".
  • You can downgrade your cards within the same family. For example, you can convert one FlexPerks card into another, but you can't convert one of their airline cards into a FlexPerks card.
  • Advanced details. Before applying for their credit cards, Doctor of Credit suggests you freeze your SageStream and ARS credit reports. U.S. Bank reports your credit utilization on the 1st of the month, not on your statement date.

If you need to talk to a representative, you can take advantage of myFico.com's list of backdoor phone numbers. These, often unpublished, phone numbers will get you directly to more experienced credit card company employees that may be better able to provide assistance.
